Phouthai New Year festival puts age-old traditions on show
VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/ANN) – A large number of Phouthai people from across Laos gathered in Vientiane last week to celebrate the start of their Lunar New Year.
The celebrations served to make city dwellers more aware of the customs of this ethnic group, who put on a colourful display featuring musical and cultural performances that have been part of their tradition for many years.
